This might be a more vulnerable post than others :). As a child I also dreamed of dressing up, but sadly I grew up under communism, and we didn't have much for dressing up. I got to be a gypsy and a ghost, both of which did not required anything new to be acquired, nothing glamorous...
Once I actually was offered a real home made costume of a squirrel. It was lovely, I remember it like yesterday but I was a kindergartener at the time. My mom didn't let me take it to the daycare on the day we were supposed to dress up and they didn't let me get home for it. I missed the only time I could have wore a "real" costume :(.... I wore it at home for the rest of the day, but somehow it stayed with me. Oh the little things that create us :).
I guess now I am in love trying to give this gift to others, I melt when little girls get to see their favorite princess, or even better as a teen they get to dress up as their favorite princess and pass on the love to little ones. I created 8 princesses and a forest fairy :). There is a mermaid as well, but still need to get some pictures :). I am so happy, just those hugs, that kids gave them at the Corn Fest Parade was worth the work of creating them, and even if we never get a request for a princess party, I created memories that hopefully inspires little ones, to be their best, to dream big and make things happen, even if they didn't get them as kids, it is never too late :).
(Forgive the sneakers on them, we were heading to the long walk of the parade :).
